Liberals and social justice warriors have long peddled the lie that the U.S. is a male privileged patriarchy, and that women are constantly victims in this country solely because of their gender. Not only is this not true, it can be destructive to women mentally.
The lies that we will examine demoralize, weaken, and manipulate many women by convincing them nothing they can do about their situation in life. In this article, let’s go through these lies and create the conservative counter argument to this baseless claims with proof.

In This Argument…
- Why the wage gap is a lie
- How male privilege does not exist legally
- How male privilege does not exist in society
- Why a victim mindset is terrible for women

What Is Male Privilege?
Privilege, according to Google, is a special right, advantage, or immunity granted or available only to a particular person or group. Male privilege suggests that men have a special right, advantage, or immunity granted because they are male, and many liberals attribute this to U.S. society.
These liberals often claim things like women have lower wages than men, most CEOs and wealthy individuals are men, women do more unpaid labor, women feel less safe, and more. And while these may be true, it does not mean male privilege or the patriarchy exists.
Does Male Privilege Exist?
The simple answer is no, in America as a society, male privilege does not exist. Let’s counter several claims that social justice warriors often make with simple arguments.
- Women Make Less Than Men (Wage Gap): The wage gap claim has been highly debated for many years, but the truth is that when correctly understood, men and women actually make the same. The lie started by taking a median interpretation of all the wages men and women make and comparing them without taking into account many factors that could explain these differences. These factors include things like type of industry, profession, and hours worked. When taking these factors into account, it makes perfect sense why median wages would be different, and they should be because men and women circumstances are different. Aside from the commonly quoted wage gap is misleading and that it largely disappears when controlling for relevant factors like industry, occupation, and hours, it begs the question: If male privilege exists, then why don’t companies just hire all women?
- Most CEOs and Wealthy Individuals Are Men: This is true, most CEOs and wealthy individuals in America are men, but this says nothing about there being a male privilege. It is also true that most people in prison are men, most of the homeless population are men, most people who commit suicide are men, and men do worse in school. It’s very easy to cherry pick statistics and claim male privilege or some sort of patriarchy, but this does not correlate to any of that existing in the U.S. There is not one law that favors men over women. Legally speaking, men and women are treated the same.
- Women Feel Less Safe In Society: Then many liberals say “fine, legally men and women are the same, but women are treated much differently in society. Most rape victims are women and women do not feel safe like a man can walking around in public and at night. This proves male privilege.” While this may seem like the case at first, an asymmetry does not mean that America is a male dominated patriarchy. It just means that terrible things happen to women, as terrible things happen to men alike. This isn’t to minimize anyone’s experience, it’s to clarify that unequal experiences of safety reflect different vulnerabilities, not evidence of systemic male privilege. The victims of most violent crime in the US is men, men are less likely to be believed or supported if they’re victims of abuse – especially by women, and men are more likely to be pressured into physical confrontation. Bringing up these statistics does not mean there is female-privilege.
Overall, legal equality between men and women exist, and both men and women face different societal disadvantages. Feeling unsafe doesn’t prove structural privilege, but it does reveal how experiences vary based on gender.
The Bottom Line
- The wage gap is a lie formed by taking just the median income of men and women and not considering any factors like industry, profession, and hours worked.
- Male privilege does not exist legally, as we see how men and women are treated the same legally.
- In society, terrible things happen to both men and women. This does not prove male privilege. While some claim society favors men, the data shows that both men and women face different challenges – and men disproportionately suffer in several key areas like crime, suicide, and homelessness
- A victim mindset is terrible for women as it pushes them away from responsibility and more towards dependency, manipulation, and a helplessness belief.
Peddling the lie that male privilege exists only pushes a victim mindset on women and robs many of them of the confidence and responsibility needed to shape their own future. True empowerment doesn’t come from blame, it comes from ownership, resilience, and the freedom to rise above obstacles, not be defined by them.
